Flash minimal style's seem to have us all running round like crazy people, trying to be cool rather than lose our cool in the world of bathroom design. It helps to keep in mind some basic points. Be practical and really start to think of what normally diminishes in the bathroom first. That's where the money needs to be spent. Having been in bathroom sales for years now, there has been a noticeable trend in what problems people experience, and it primarily been with water based items like taps, shower valves, radiators etc. Often people come in looking for replacement items due to poor quality products that have failed, budgets can often be tight because when bathroom brass-ware fails it's never good, but the hard reality remains if you don't want it to happen again then you are going to have to invest in decent products. Anything which gets used a lot, if brought cheaply will expire long before what would be deemed reasonable. Space is another big issue and a question always asked about, I like to couple space with practically. No-one like cleaning the bathroom do they! So why not lift all the items in the bathroom off the floor.Wall hung hung units, basin over a wall hung storage unit coupled with a wall hung toilet pan with concealed cistern. Simple way to make cleaning the bathroom floor a sinch, no getting on your hands and knees cleaning round that pan! When you take these items off the floor it gives the appearance of more space and is a lot more hygienic. Conceal the cistern within the wall, or a false bathroom cabinet if you don't have the cavity space. All in keeping with the modern design goal. All of this will hopefully help you make the right choices when designing your bathroom, and try to remember on to compromise on the key areas.
